ART FROM 1900–1959 FROM THE COLLECTIONS OF THE KLATOVY / KLENOVÁ GALLERY
This exhibition of works from the Klatovy / Klenová Gallery’s collections – the sixth in a series of exhibitions focusing on a particular period – presents works made in 1900–1959. Previous exhibitions – both at GKK and at galleries that held reprise showings of our exhibitions – looked at items from the gallery’s collections made in the 1960s, the 1970s–1980s, the 1990s, the 2000s (meaning the first decade of the twenty-first century), and the 2010s. One of the main reasons for holding exhibitions focused on a particular period in time is to present works from the collections while highlighting the quality of these works and exhibiting them in such a manner that they will speak to visitors from an aesthetic as well as (especially in these cases) historical perspective, with a view to the context of the particular era.
