The exhibition project titled CITY MEJKAP takes a concentrated look at the phenomenon of the city and urban culture in contemporary Slovak art. Among other things, the exhibition explores socio-political questions and takes a critical look at the distinctive aesthetics and visuality of urban structures. The ten selected Slovak artists each have their own particular artistic program and work in a variety of media. The exhibition thus presents contemporary positions of figural painting alongside street art and airbrushed works, photographic documentary series, fragments of objects, and metaphorical video essays.

The exhibition has been put together in collaboration with the Ján Koniarek Gallery in Trnava. After its presentation in Klatovy, it will be also shown at the UFFO Gallery in Trutnov.
