The exhibition, whose title refers to the concept of “core,” presents the respected sculptor Pavel Opočenský (1954) exclusively through pastel drawings – exactly one hundred meticulously executed works on paper representing three years of intense work. The drawings include geometric composition loosely based on sketches for his jewelry and sculptural realization, but also biological structures inspired by his observations using historical microscopes. One thing all these works have in common with one another and with the rest of Opočenský's work is an interest in transparency, optical illusions, and the mystery of the inner space.
