The series of subjective color documentary photographs entitled “Between Heaven and Earth” began spontaneously in 2009 with the creation of the first photograph of a traffic sign pointing to the sky.

The pictures' common element is the depiction of seemingly static or at first glance unclear events, primarily in the open landscape – both urban and rural – while allowing for deeper reflection, imagination, and finding one's own contexts and interrelationships.

After a brief observation, the humorous visual shorthand, lightness and at first glance purely aesthetic approach to photography reveal relationships between life and death, birth and decline, smallness and greatness, joy and sorrow, light and dark.

Most of the photographs are made randomly while traveling around Bohemia, but some were made on journeys to far-flung destinations such as Thailand, Egypt, France, and Germany.

The photographs have not been altered, but neither do they reflect the reality of the photographed scene.
