Jun'ichiro Ishii was born in 1975 inFukuoka, Japan, and today lives in Prague.

His site-specific works involve his observation of basic cultural phenomena. He doesn't use any pre-determined methods to properly express his pure sense of a place, but adds symbolic forms to the place's cultural specifics, which he digests and presents through site-specific works – which are something like unusual interpretations of everyday phenomena, and something like a cultural sketch.
