Adam Vačkář (1979) lives in both Prague and Paris. He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and later completed a residential program at the Palais de Tokyo. His works have been exhibited at, among other venues, the Centre Pompidou, Centre Pompidou Metz, Palais de Tokyo, the Young Artists’ Biennial in Bucharest, the Prague Triennale, and the City Gallery Prague.Vačkář works with many different styles and forms of conceptual art. His installations, sculptures, video, photography, and performance art often have a basis in reality, and Vačkář attempts to discover the possibilities of this reality and to create models of various potential situations or new forms. The exhibition at the White Unicorn Gallery includes installations based on mathematical fractal equations or posters with Dadaist poetry composed using the chemical ingredients in shampoo. These works represent a kind of shift in reality; they have the final word in expressing something entirely new, using things that already exist.
