19th Summer Ceramic Sculpture

19th Summer Ceramic Sculpture
17.06.2011

Castle Klenová
19. 6. – 2. 10. 2011

Gallery Klatovy/Klenová hosts the nineteenth year of this unique exhibition of ceramic and porcelain sculptures. For thirteen years, the exhibition was held at the Franciscan Gardens in Bechyně, with the last five years taking place in the castle gardens of the Museum of Central Bohemia in Roztoky, just outside Prague. These open-air exhibitions have helped to maintain and further develop the unique outdoor presentation of traditional sculpture. Last year’s “Summer Ceramic Sculpture” featured works by 26 artists. It is our goal to continue to grow this exhibition in the coming years, to include new and emerging artists, and to attract additional Czech and foreign artists. The exhibitions bring together sculptors and ceramic artists of all ages, as well as students of the Academy of Fine Arts and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design under the guidance of professors Jan Hendrych, Jindřich Zeithaml, and Pavel Knapek. Other important exhibiting artists include Alžbieta Grosseová, Jindra Viková, Lubomír Šilar, Jan Koblasa, Jan Hendrych, Miloslav Chlupáč, and Bohumil Zemánek. This year’s honorary guest is Pravoslav Rada, a living legend of Czech ceramic art.
