Pavla Voborník Kačírková (1985) works at the boundary between sculpture, installation, and the hung painting or object. A constant presence in her art is the thematically elusive tendency towards a felt connection between people and nature or something else, however intuited, that exists around us – something that transcends classical human understanding. Her minimalist installation Trinity, which she created for religious spaces (in which she has exhibited on several occasions), consists of three aged wooden beams floating in the air on metal cables as a reference that iconic symbol of Christianity, the Holy Trinity. Another installation, Wave, and her cast-metal paintings Madonna and Madonna with a Halo (further references to Christianity) determine the exhibition’s main theme. They are frequently depicted symbols, but they are not based on real images of the depicted subject. They could even be called iconic abstractions.
