Milena Dopitová is a leading Czech conceptual artist who uses artistic media such as film, photography, object art, installation art, or a combination thereof to sensitively, working on a personal level, expand her message to encompass broader meanings and contexts.

The title of the exhibition And Your Second Wish? speaks to the possibility of a second choice in case one’s first wish does not pan out. It is a kind of optimistic realization of the existence of other possible avenues that exist for us. However, this realization may not be immediately clearly definable (it is not given to us for free). As in life, we must work our way towards it over time, by gathering experience. Uncertainty and fear of the unknown, but also human desires, faith, playfulness, connections, and the growth of new values offering security – all these things may be components of and tools for becoming aware of our other options. For this reason, the works in the exhibition may possess multiple meanings; they are intertwined just as the various media and “building materials” are intertwined and interconnected in the final installations, which may form a kind of shared tool for expressing certain ideas.
